RAM Adopts SAE J2807 Towing Capacity Rating System

When drivers are searching for a powerful truck to purchase, it is important that they are presented with the most accurate information possible. Sometimes, this is a challenge as each automaker calculates towing capacity ratings in different ways. This is why the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) developed the standard J2807 system, and RAM Trucks is the first brand to implement it. Check out the test results by viewing the clip below.

Motor Trend's Truck of the Year, the RAM 1500 boasted a towing capacity of 7,600 or 9,200 pounds depending on engine. At the top of the range rests the RAM 3500 with 6.7-liter Cummins inline-six diesel engine, which has a towing capacity that is rated at a massive 30,000 pounds!
